Colorado History:

Colorado has an interesting history that extends as far back to more than thirteen thousand years ago. The current state today was actually first occupied by the Native Americans. Back then, Spanish explorers, gold miners and hunters, chose to settle in Colorado despite the state being densely populated with Native American tribes.

But Westward expansions eventually brought a number of settlers from Europe to the state. In Colorado’s recorded history, everything accordingly began with wars and treaties with nations in Native America and Mexico just to acquire territorial lands to promote the migration across continents. During the earlier times of the famous gold rush of Colorado, the state was then considered to be a Jefferson and Kansas territory. Finally, on the historical day of August 1, 1876, the state of Colorado was proclaimed as one of the states of the US, allowing it to maintain its territorial borders.
